I have used a supertuner to change my engine and trans performance. I really like it and it has improved my performance and even gained 2 mpg. My problem is that the trans still takes a slide as it shifts. I would like to make the shift point firmer and the supertuner helped but I can still feel it slip. Really noticable between 2nd and 3rd. Any Ideas?
Kit costs about $125. They give you a VCR tape with instructions.. Drop trans pan. and the valve body, change gasket and some valves and also take out one Steel ball and put it back together and wal-la. Shifts like a race car!!! I had a little trouble but they were good on the help line and it worked out. A little scary at first. The shop I got a estimate from would do it for $250. But I saw how dirty they were and decided to do it myself. I think I went through Truck Performence In Calif. Do a Google for Trans-Go.

Sounds like what we used to do to C-6 Transmissions. They sold a shift kit for about $80, but if you knew what was in it, there was a gasket, and about $2 worth of little ball bearings and springs and a two inch long pin. They worked well too. The shifting became way positive. Change a couple of plastic things inside the C-6 and put in metal ones, and the tranny got to be pretty much bullet proof. Sure wish I could have one of them in my new Ford truck, Ha!
Thanks, drighten is right sounds like the old shift kits and I have done afew of them in my time. For bullitproff though give me one of the old FMX. They couldn't be torn apart.
