Rear disc conversion

I searched and only found a couple of threads about rear disc conversions and they didn't have any good info, so i'll post this question for the masses.

Has anyone done a rear drum to disc conversion on an 84-96 bronco?

I'm looking at this kit for 250
http://broncograveyard.com/products/...conversion&sy=

Premium loaded calipers for an 85 Buick riviera are 109 each (170 with core)

An automatic proportioning valve is 60 bucks, stainless extended hoses are 55 and any miscellaneous parking brake linkage could be about another 40.

So with the grand total of parts only being about 750 bucks, does anyone know from experience if the cost and time spent are worth it? I only pull a double motorcycle trailer so I don't really need the extra stopping power for that, but I drive a 10% grade mountain pass twice a day to work and if it gives a smoother more controlled and even stop, i can justify it.
I just want to hear some personal testimony in it's favor I guess before I spend the cash.

Any thoughts are welcome, even if they don't support the conversion.

I have converted my rear to disc with the E-Brake set up. But I also had the rear end modified at the same time. In the process the C-clips were eliminated. The axle flanges(that hold the drum onto housing) were cut off and the 9" flanges were then welded into place. The brackets that hold the calipers also holds in the axles.

As far as these brakes goes, well I haven't been very happy with it at all. They don't automatically adjust like they should. Since I have the 9" flanges, I do have a few more option with the aftermarket.

One option to concider, with something that just started to sell in the past year. Is the rear brakes from the Explorer. The kits I've seen are rotors with drum style e-brake. But they may not be heavy duty enough for our full size rigs. One option, the 4by shop owner and I were talking about that kit, and what was suggested was to get a kit from an Expedition. Same style as the Explorer, with the calipers and drum style e-brake.
Hope this helps
