351 Question

I was planning on rebuilding the top end of my 351m w/timing chain, comp cam 265deh, edelbrock #3771 intake, edelbrock 1406 carb with stock exhaust manifold. I ran into some extra $ issues not involving the truck & am running low on the cash. Which phase of this project should I eliminate for now? I figured that while my guy is replacing the timing chain, which is now broke, I should have him put in the cam & lifters & I could switch out the carb & intake later. Does this seem logical?

Right on. Get the cam while you are in there. Be sure to get a chain set that doesn't have the original retard built in to the marks.

Sure, you can bolt on a manifold any time you want.

What happened re the valves, heads? Is this the same one that was clattering and suffered some kind of damage?

Yes, it is the same truck. The timing chain let loose so I'm hoping that that was what was causing my chattering valves. Going to tear into it this weak.
