I noticed when I'm pulling my trailer(maybe a load of 1600 -1800 lbs) and I want to do about 70-75 MPH the motor is revving out to 3000-3200 + RPMs. Is that normal? It kind of acts funny when there is a load in the back. Is this a sign of the tranny going on me?
A buddy said there is a way to adjustment of when the motor or tranny rather shifts.
If Im not in overdrive, My motor runs about 3000 rpm at 75. Seems normal since you normally dont tow in overdrive. What year truck, engine size, tranny type?
It's a 95 Eddie Bauer bronco. Not sure of the tranny. How do you know which one ya got. It has 160K miles and it just seems the motor is struggling. I'm kind of disappointed with the power. I can see now why my friend insisted I got a 5.8.
Just to let you all know my Dad's Envoy pulled the same trailer with A/C on without such a scream....I prefer my Bronco over that.. it's nice, big and plush with a rusty bottom end tailgate.
