Check Engine !! Help ??
hi..
new to the forum ! heard so many good things about it.. i was a member of fordforum but had no help ..
okay.. i have 1998 xlt ford expendition with 4.6 ltr..
loved this truck !!!! use it on 4 wheeling on long island beach and daily driving
recently the check engine light came on..i had the autozone scanned and say
engine is running too lean.. p10 something i forgot.. i also had the oxgen sensor replaced and gas filter replaced also upgraded the blisten shock um also nitto grappler tires on it
how do i fix this problem.. my wife and i just had a new family arrival.. a litttle girl so we r on budget now..
i read the threat by xxlmatt i believe that has same problem the rpm jump 800 to 500 then back..
i bring to everyone but they want
500 to 800 bucks
someone mentioned that it could be the hose.. from pcv valve to the top intake on the motor.. i look the hose and i saw the hose has um some kind of rubber protection on it with one elbow on the pcv valve to the intake on the motor..
could it be a problem ? is it safe to drive ?? any help would be greatly..is there someone who live in suffolk county, LI could help me its hard for me to recongized the air leak since im hearing imparied...

as i mentioned before the check light engine came out something with system too lean code p 170 or something ?? could anyone or someone have problem and had it fix??if so .. what is the step to fix it
want the truck to be ready and be a ford power to tow my 24 ft camper travel trailer..

Not sure it this applies to 4.6L but it fixed my rough idle problem and the check engine light. Cheap easy fix!
