Ok here's an odd one for you guys I have a stock 66 f100 with a 352. Now the dipstick has three markings on it which is a first for me. Here's how it goes ADD with 2 dots right above it then from that point I'd guess half a quart 2 more dots then from that point I'd say a quart 2 more dots. Which is full!! At times it'll read at the top 2 dots at others the middle 2 my oringal owners manual does not explain this dipstick either. And how much oil does this beast really hold? Some books say 5 with filter some say 6. Thanks in advance for any clues.

The top dots are the full mark, the ones in the middle are for one quart low and the bottom ones are for two quarts low (don't ever run it this low, you're asking for trouble). Pan should hold 5 quarts with filter, when you change your oil where does the level show on the stick?
