Wait or not? help please

I like the current SDs. Many people here have said wait for the 05s. Mostly because of the problems with the 6.0L diesel being worked out I think. I am afraid I might not like the planned changes, not even sure what they are or if they are improvements. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

There's really no hurry..

There will still be 04's available, or maybe even limited late 03's still around when the 05's roll out.. Depending on your option taste.. Some of the 6.0's are having some problems mine included.. They can't seem to get my rear main seal corked up "completely".. And,, it has a Turbo Drone/Moan vibration that Ford is trying to engineer a fix for..Nothing yet!! Would I have gotten a better truck if I waited.. Maybe, maybe not.. But the changes are for the better, and given another chance, I would wait for a "true" 04 or maybe even 05.. I love to drive mine, and it does run "very well".. But waiting could be the difference in later on repairs/issues.. There are plenty of 03 owners that haven't had any problems, but the upgrades to the 6.0 I believe will make it a less "repair intensive" engine.. Might even trade mine off for an 05 if they are a better performer!!!!!

Test drive'm long and hard, and grind out the absolute best deal you can.. Shop around....Good Luck on your decision

As Hayapower said, there will still be plenty of 04's available when the 05's come out and you'll probably be able to get a discount on a brand new 04 at that point.

The discount could be substantial, and very enticing!

I am considering ordering my new SD after Nov. of this year. Hopefully then all will be '05 parts, etc. I've decided to keep my '01 PSD and use it for work and leave the '05 for touring with the 5th wheel. I am really hoping that the new one will be 1/2 as dependable as the existing one.
