Ho, your saying that the Skyjacker 3/4 ton and 1 ton leaf springs are the same in what way? Meaning that they will fit and have a different load rating or fit and also be the same load rating? Can you please clarify, Thanks! I would think the 3/4 ton springs would fit and have a softer load rating. Is this right?
not from skyjacker...if you go to their website and look up rear springs for both a 1 ton and 3/4 they are the exact same p/n! in fact i believe they are the same for 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton but i have been wrong before! I know they will fit though!
Wow I guess you do learn something everyday, especially on FTE! Thanks Jason! Why would Skyjacker make the 3/4 ton and 1 ton springs the same though? You would think Skyjacker would want to keep the same load capacity for each model truck but just increase the lift. It just sounds weird to me.
they figure if you are lifting it what kind of a load are you gonna haul! more of a play truck. course those springs are pretty stout. that's the reason i didn't go with them is they didn't flex too well. this weekend i will get some GOOD pics of me flexing my truck i am gonna take the trac bar off so the front will give as much as the rear.
Yeah thats what I want a play truck not a hauler, just hauling some camping **** and tools. Do you think though that the Skyjacker springs would flex better than the stock ones? I haven't priced them yet but I heard custom leaf springs from National are pretty sweet too. Yeah I would love to see how well your truck flexes have you used an RTI ramp?
Thanks Ho! What springs and setup are you running in the rear of your orange mud truck? Also, do I need to get a longer front and rear drive shaft for a 6" Skyjacker lift or can you still utilize the stock ones?
you will probably be ok on driveshaft length, the rea rmight be a tad on the short side....just look at it and see.
for the rear of my truck i did a shackle flip for only about 2 inches, then i have some 4inch national springs i bought a long time ago(they pretty much suck)

Thats weird I heard national springs were pretty good. I guess you just wheel to hard Ho and you might have worn them out!
they are just stiff and dont do much to prevent axle wrap. id be happier with stock springs inboarded, or some rear 4 inch skyjackers and a shackle flip..but oh well

inboard means that the springs are directly under your frame rails rather than just to the outside. you get a lot more flex from inboarded springs b/c the leverage is greater.
From what I been understanding and correct me if I'm wrong. The best thing to do is this: 4" Skyjacker lift springs for both the front and rear and get a shackle reversal kit front and rear from Sky engineering or I can get 6" springs in the front and forget about the shackle reversal in the front and just get the beefier schackles from ORU to eliminate the A type schackles. What do you guys think? Sorry I'm bugging I just want to do it right the first time because its alot of money!
this is what i would do (i will do it soon myself) get a 4" lift kit then shackle reverse the front, shackle flip the rear....keep the rear springs (maybe add a leaf from a F150 pack depending)

what do you mean A-type shackles?
-jason-
Sounds good! The A-type shackles is the type of shackle that I have on the front of my truck. The shackles come to a point at the top of the the shackle and go inside the bracket thats attached to the frame. I was planing on getting rid of these and using the heavy duty H style shackles.
