c6 internals

will the internals of a big block c6 fit in a fe c6 with a round bell housing. i have a burned up fe c6 that i need and a big block c6 that works that i dont need. can i take the internals out of the working trans and put them in the other trans case that i need? this is going in a 63 f100 with a 390.

Yes they will however, there are 2 different low reverse pistons types. They must be kept with the case they came from if there different. I'd recomend removing the piston, it holds a lot of fluid behind it, and if the trans burned up there will be poluted oil behind it. I'd also check the gear train endplay.

how hard would you say swaping the guts out is. i rebuilt the motor in front of it myself but question my abilities inside a trans. if im going to have to transfer everyone of the kazzilion parts one by one i dont think it would be worth the trouble thanks for the help.

Get yourself a Haynes manual. C6 Isn't a very complicated trans. You might as well put a rebuild kit in it when you have it that far apart.
