thanks for the all the info guys, those prices will be a good reference if it comes down to that. Still not sure how i'll go about this, but i'll manage. there is some corrsion on those fittings, so that is a very good possibility. alsair, whats the bottom fitting for? just curious. -william
They are both transmission cooling lines. Top line is in and the bottom is out.
Running the straight water was just until the leak is found!! Having to keep filling it up with anti-freeze, as much as his truck is drinking, can be expensive!
Got a followup on my radiator for ya. Checked before I left for class and I could see where it's been leaking out. It's kinda 'stained' the sides (both sides have a leak) of the radiator where she's leakin' at. Also checked the antifreeze level and as usual it was low. I got on it a little coming back from class and I could smell the antifreeze. When I got my oil change last week, I got the hookup on a local mechanic. He's quoted me a $220.21 estimate for new radiator, gallon of antifreeze, (it may include labor and time not sure) and a system flush. Price looks reasonable to me, and the guy seemed legit. Thanks for the info guys, you were right: new radiator. FTE is neat!!! -William
