I just go my Max Micro Tuner in the mail today and juiced up my V10. I already had a Borla Exhaust and a Cold air intake and Man WHAT A DIFFERENCE! I can't wait to see how she runs once I install my headers. It is way quicker off the line and at freeway speed it has much better pickup and pass power. My gas milage has already improved by about 1.5 mpg and I have been romping it at every light. I do have a question to those of you with a Superchips Programmer. I bought mine used and I only have the option of one preset program or I can do the custom set up. I only did the preset one but I thought there was a choice between three preset programs? I also thought you could input what mods you have so that it will take that info into account? Is this something new that my programmer wouldn't have since it is older? Thanks for any help you can give me! Either way I love the difference!
Hey dliguori, Your question actually prompted me to join. I just found out this info a few days ago. It seems that the newer #1517 tuners have a tri tune feature that allows three diff setting. "The new Max MicroTuner is now available with an 87 octane program, a 91-93 octane towing program and a 91-93 octane high performance program. " (quote from superchips site)http://www.superchips.com/html/produ...gas_trucks.htm. I have an older tuner from early 2003 and mine doesn't have this feature. Upon contacting superchips tech support they informed me that that can reprograme for $125 - only if you are the owner and have the origional receipt.
This thread illustrates what sometimes happens when someone buys a used SCMT --- sometimes they find out they didn't get what they expected and got an old version.
A. They can't get it upgraded because they aren't the original buyer.
B. Even if they could get it upgraded, its so costly that it would have been cheaper to buy a new one in the first place.
