Carb problems. What's missing? PIC

Is there a diagram posted on the web of a stock 2 barrel carb which came on a 65 F100 352ci? Can't figure out how the manual choke cable attaches to the choke rod. Maybe there's something missing on mine. I have a pic but don't see a way of posting. Thanks.....Gary

I dont know if you have the 65 shop manual, but if anyone does, a pic of the right side of carb is on pg 10-50 of book 2....good pic w/details nicely labeled.
I would post it, but no scanner....But I will try to explain anyway....at the rear standing vertical is the clamp brkt which holds choke cable sheath in place....similar to throttle cable clamp....forward of that is a small clamp with a setscrew which the cable itself goes thru and its locked into for choke operation........

Hope this helps, camperspecial65

Thanks for the quick reply. Here is a pic. The problem is that the cable is mounted horizontally just as you described. But the choke rod is vertical? Notice the thottle shaft beneath the "L" shaped choke rod coming from the butterfly valve. There is a set screw on it with nothing to rest against? This tells me something may be missing. Thanks

There is a "Bellcrank" missing the cable should go to a bellcrank. The rod that controls the choke plate, (you can see it hanging down behind your cable end, in pic) should go into a hole in the bellcrank, the bellcrank should mount on that 3/8ths inch round part of the Carb Body casting, with the broken screw still in it there.

There are 3 holes in the bellcrank. 1 for broke off pivot screw, 1 for cable end & 1 90 degrees to cables' hole, for choke plate rod. Pulling or pushing cable moves bellcrank. Bellcrank actuates the rod, that controls position of the choke plate [relative to open or closed or ? whatever position].

Plus, missing bellcrank also has stepped "set points" to regulate idle speed if choke is engaged. As in High idle, or low Idle again depending on choke plate set/position.

hope that helps you out.

FBp,
Thnaks, that does help. I will probably just replace the carb. Auto Zone can get one for around 80 bucks. Now I've got bigger problems (new post) Thanks again.....Gary
