transmission swap question
i have a 78 f250 4x4 with a 400 ( No M) and a C6.
i have a 77 f350 2wd with a 351m and a 4 speed tranny. i will be swapping cabs because the 350 has a better one. and it makes turning the truck into a 4 speed easyer. i've always wanted a 4 speed.
but here is my problem. the truck, being a 78 does not have a divorced transfer case. how can i mate this transmission to this transfer case? is there an easyway to do this? like an adapter plate? and where would i get one? or could i just weld a plate on the end of the tranny and put holes in that? or should i move the t case back and put a small driveshaft, like the highboy trucks have? basically turning it into a divorced t-case. the only problem i have with that is i dont want to lower the t-case like in the highboys. plus i want to keep it somewhat stock. has anyone done a similar swap to this? thanks for any help.

Assuming the 2wd and 4wd four speeds are the same (T18, NP435) all you would need to find is the factory adaptor to mate to the married NP205. I see them all the time on ebay. Or try a salvage yard.
