I have a van with a C6 transmission. On the dipstick, the fluid level seems to be too high (as checked on a level surface, in park, with the engine running), but the van drives fine. I have noticed several things that previous owner(s) mickey moused, & I don't have any confidence that the dipstick is actually the correct one for the pan / dipstick tube. Do any of you know a way to determine the correct fluid level based on a physical landmark on the trans, say perhaps, 1.5" above or below the pan gasket, or something similar?
I've searched for this on the internet & have found nothing relevant.
Obviously, the most direct solution would be to go to a wrecking yard & make some measurements. Thought I'd check here before taking that route.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
