i bought a 04 excursion v10 and a 04 v10 super duty someone please tell me i did the right thing going with the gas vs diesel i only tow a 5000lb boat in the summer only on weekends i just wish i could get more than 10.5 mpg hopefully i will when the weather warms up thanks for any and all input

These are BIG - HEAVY trucks..
what rear gears do u have ? if 4.10 maybe a switch to 3.73's might help...
and I've seen some that wanted to go the other way with the v-10's...
maybe they will swap ?

If it helps, 14u2nv, I have a '99 model SD w/V10 and am well pleased. Let them get a few miles on them and they'll likely get better gas mileage. But, if I were you I would just fill 'em up and drive 'em and not worry about it.
I can get near 16 on average with our V-10 on trips
and average about 11.5 around town day in and day out.. not bad considering all the weight its carrying
