How to create a hyperlink?

Can someone tell me how to create a hyperlink within my posts? I see this all the time where there will be a word highlighted within a post, and when you click on it you are linked to another related site. I would like to do this, but everytime I try, I mess it up. Your help is appreciated.

Thanks for your reply, but what I'm referring to is when you see a word highlighted such as "look here". "Here" would be highlighted and when you click on it you are linked to another site.

You have hit the "Post Reply" icon instead of doing the "Quick Reply". It will take you to the next screen. There you will see a Globe in the toolbar. Click on it and type in the word you want to use as the link, then it will automatically take you to the next step where you will enter the web address.

Good Luck.

What you need to do is this: instead of using the "quick reply" box at the bottom of the post (if you are responding to someone else's post), is to click on the "go advanced" underneath the quick reply box. This opens up a message window with a lot more options. This is also the window you would see if you were starting a new thread, or message, rather than replying to one. Go ahead and start typing your message, and when you are ready to make your link, look right above the message window and there are a bunch of little icons in a row, starting with B, I, U.... there is one to the right which looks like a little earth with a chain underneath it (10th from the left, fifth from the right). This is the hyperlink button. Click on it and a little window pops up which says "enter the text which is to be displayed for the link". This is where you would put the word or words that you want to be hilited and that the people will click on. Click OK and another little window pops up and asks for the URL of the link. Note that http:// will already be there, so if you cut and paste make sure you delete that first or it will be there twice and will cause the link to be no good. Click ok and you are back in the body of your message and your cursor is just past the section with the link, so you can continue typeing your message. Hope that helps. Robb
