Ranger 4 speed conversion trouble
Me and my buddy just rolled our 1984 ford ranger S and we were lookng to get a new ranger as fast as possible so we ran to the nearest junk yard and got our hands on a 1985 ranger with an automatic tranny. so we unbolted the tranny and threw in the 4 speed out of the rolled truck. but now we cant figure out why it has trouble shifting gears when we are at a stop. We literally have to throw all of our weight into the shifter to get into reverse and if we try to go from a comlete stop it tries to fight us in first gear. it only seems to act up when we are at a stop, because it shifts into first perfect if we are still moving just a little bit. it has a brand new clutch and the hydraulic clutch is full and the gear oil is full so i have no clue why it would be doing this.
