torque converter shield

Listers,

I've posted a few times regarding the LONG process of getting the 351C and C6 I scrounged up into my '78 Explorer. After bead-blasting and painting the plate that goes between the flexplate and rear of the block (torque converter shield?), I realized it was for the old 351M/big C6 pattern!!!

Knowing how hard it is to find a Cleveland in a salvage yard, I wonder if anyone can tell me if any small Ford with a C6 bolted to it would share this part with my combo? Windsor totin' vans with C6's are plentiful where I am in Texas boneyards and would sure make my job easier if compatible.

As always, I appreciate the advice!

Small block's and 351C share the same bolt patern. so it would fit. Im not sure about the lower 2 bolts that go in from the front at the bottom, you would have to look it over. You wouldn't have to take it out to see. My guess is that their the same.

Thanks, I kind of thought that too. It seems more like a transmission specific part than a motor specific part. I'll try to yank one this week and let you know if I hit any snags. I appreciate the help.
