Tweaked Bumper

ok i wnet mudding and i got stcuk really bad, and my friends rigs used chains to try to pull me out and i hooked the chains to my frame under my engine, and the force of the chain tweaked my bumper on the sides, so it's a little lower, i'd say an inch, is there any way i can fix this w/o takin 'er in?
thanks

Assuming the bumper isn't bent, then the problem probably is the mounting brackets. If you got lucky, the brackets got pulled out of position rather than getting bent. Try loosening the bracket/frame mounting bolts and see if you move the bumper into position.

By the way, if this is a front bumper and the vehicle is equipped with air bags, better let your dealer take a look at it.

You got to look at them. Compare the left side with the right side bracket. Do they look the same? Is there some fresh exposed bare metal? Has some mud or undercoating been disturbed. Push up on the bumper. Is anything moving? Do you hear a scrapping sound?

I can't really give you a specific to look for. You're basicly looking for something that seems out of place.
