overheathing
overheathing
i was driving arround tonight and i noticed my engie was running hotter than normal, usually it on or below the m in normal, well, the only thing i have done today is to add oil to it, and the oil level was low. i have had this happen before, when i fill up the oil it runs hotter, i realy dont understand it at all. i am going to fush the oil system next week, i am going to use the magnet trick to get all the pices of metal to settle int he bottom of the oil pan, so i want to know what to look for if i want to cure this problem.
thanks for all the heip

I would flush the cooling system and put in a new thermostst too. Take a look in the radiator when its empty to see if there a lot of crap built up in there. Be careful, you know what happens when you overheat the 2.9L.
Put in the 180 degree thermostat. Well worth the time. Engine stays cool and heads don't crack. Be sure to fully seat the hoses back into their original spots, though. I didn't and had a green puddle under the B2 in the morning.
