I went to my ford dealer in San Saba, Golding Motors, to get my accelerator pedal looked at because it was REALLY sensitive. While I was there the manager was talking to me about the chip and extra horses, and he mentioned that a guy in Stephenville, Texas had a truck like mine a 4x4 crew cab dually diesel. He races this against anybody he can. He hasnt lost yet, im not sure how far the race is, im assuming a quarter. He put a 120 hp chip, the propane injection(100 hp), dual 5in exhaust, and he has some other special work done to the automatic transmission. right now the truck is a pos, it is finished. i don't see how any motor can handle that kind of horsepower. I bet that thing will fly, im not sure what kind of cars he raced, i would love to find out! just thought id share that with you guys!
this is my first post on the FTE forums and will probably get a for this but i have seen a few dodges with the cummins dyno over 500hp and one that went 750hp.the farthest any of them have been torn apart is some of them have had the head off to replace head gaskets for o rings, so at 55-60 lbs of boost they dont leak.
Boys, you must have me confused with Ken04 down in the V10 forum. Given the depths of your replies both there and here, I can see how you two can become confused.
Apology accepted.
I've never made the claims you imply that I have and have always defended, owned (when appropriate), recommended and loved diesel powered trucks.
wideopen, i believe you, i rode with a friend that had a f250 4x4 and he had a 120 chip in it, they made him change the exhaust to where it would let everything out quicker. that truck never has a weak point, i never have heard the max on the ones like that, i bet its around 110 or 115. ken i dont have you confused, i dont know about the other guy, and to my knowledge nobody here apologized.
You may be still seething from this one... https://www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID43/346.html but my post (#38) was actually saying that I preferred the new 6.0L diesel over the present day V10 (as stated later) and I used an analogy of my TV to ward off any of those +$$$ arguements usually given by hard-core gassers.
Do you understand now? I have never put-down or belittled someone solely for the powerplant that they use in their truck. I have better things to do with my time than that.

At what expense does this happen? A Banks Power Pack runs around $3300.00 for a Power Stroke, plus installation. This is a very expensive modification, considering you can achieve near-same results with a Diablo chip at approx $350.00 and 30 minutes time. It also depends on what you plan to do with the truck. With the Diablo, you would need to add an exhaust if towing, but that still doesn't come close to the price of the Banks kit. What do you know of these items you mention? What brand, who makes them, how much do they cost? This would be information worth writing so everyone knows at what expense this performance was attained. Don't be so quick to judge the motives of others.
Also, you mentioned you had one World of Difference. Who makes that and what does it do?
