Hey guys I thought that I would bump this to the front page of the o4 150 forum. Anybody have any more thoughts out there. [I never get enough] Thanks for your reply
if you lift the front end 2.5" to level the truck the tailgate doesnt get in the way near as much when backing. I was looking at my SCREW side by side the other day against an 03 SCREW and I agree big time with OTHGMike about the taller bed and shorter windows making it look more retro styled like an old coupe and the 03 with the bed getting narrower toward the back like an old DA hairstyle looks goofy in comparison now. I personally think the 04 SCREW with the shorter bed and bigger cab offset the "slabside" look alot more than the long bed which makes the tall bed seem even bigger. How can a short cab with a big long bed look "more balanced", the SCREW is more balanced IMO. In regards to getting stuff out of the bed, you either drop the tailgate or use the rear tire for a step, but the tougherlooking more superduty-like 04 bed is definately an improvement over the 03 bed, on SCREW, SCAB or RC.
Just got mine Friday 4/16/04. XLT Scab 4x4. Love it so far, only 140 miles on it. I like the bed height, looks great. As for not being able to see I do think the bed height does hinder your sight a bit, but for me whats worse are the headrests! I'm 5'8 and I have to make an effort to look AROUND the headrest when backing up. It's really not a big deal, but for me its the headrest and NOT the bed.
