if you get tips with a resonator, the resonator will quiet it down compared to a regular tip. i think the longer and bigger the diameter of the tip the louder it will be.
its definatly not gunna be the loudest truck on your block but it will rumble. you wont get any ricey ness even tho u haev the v6. it will sound good but make sure u get the rite pipe size
myself i wouldnt go as big as 4"...imo 3.5" at the biggest. to some ppl that little size difference may not be much...but to me it is. the longer and bigger the tip...the deeper/more mellow it will get. i have 18x3.5" on mine. whatever u go...id highly advise stainless if u want the looks. wont rust like the chrome ones...
deffinatly stainless tips, I have two 3.5 inch tips about 18 inches long exiting on 45s, very nice sound with no mufflers, cat back. MY buddy has an 83 F150 with I6, and a 4 foot long 5" tip, under the truck, you always know its him, which is okay, but the sound is VERY hollow. Depends on your prefrence, but BIG tips make it sound very hollow.
Do not get chrome ones. I have chrome on my F150 and they have nearly rusted off after 4 years of snow. The salt would eat it faster than I could derust it.
