Friday I was towing around (80 miles) a small trailer with some mulch on it (roughly 3600lbs) and noticed a squeaking sound comming from the receiver area. Yesterday I took the trailer off and the squeaking dissapeared. Later on I put a Hitch Haul on with some firewood on it, less than 200lbs total tongue weight. The squeak returned.
Does anyone have any idea where to start looking for the problem? The squeak seems to speed up as I go faster. I thought it was the trailer wheel bearings to begin with.

Several things come to mind. Lube the drawbar for the trailer and the cargo platform to eliminate any squeaks from their movements when in the reciever. Check the mounting bolts with a torque wrench to make sure they are tightened to specs. Don't put any lube on mounting bolts.
And if you don't have the LLS option, the rear could be sagging under load enough to put different than normal wear on bushings in the rearsuspension; such as sway bar links, panhard rod, spring seats, etc. Lube all those with rubber safe lube.
