future hybrid possibility??
i have been researching hybrid technologies lately, especially since ford is releasing the hybrid escape this fall, along with the mariner and possibly the futura/400....
my question is, does ford have it under wraps to unveil a hybrid superduty soon??
with the tonka concept they had at the 2002 auto show, if they could get that perfected, i am sure many customers would purchase it.
here is a link to Eaton and the EPA.... says the system would be ready by mid-decade.

i know it is a fairly old article, but haven't heard much about the HLA system since 2002..
just wanting to start some conversation and see if anyone knows more than i do...

I would like to see a diesel hybrid. I think the combination of diesel fuel efficiency would be a good combination. Here's an intersting link on the technology.

well gm may give them a push in the suv market. truck trend has them coming out with a hybrid tahoe and yukon in 2005. i thought i also saw something about a hybrid ranch truck either on fords or gm's website.
i love my super duty but if advancements makes it easier on my pocket i wont resist. i know a lot of people who think a hybrid super duty is the end of their world but i dont think so. just as long as we're not trading anything too severe in return for the change.
