Battery Cables What Goes Where?
Ready for this? Took the battery out of my 51 ford f1 for storage. Went to put it in today and the battery cables are not marked. Just bought the truck don't know much about it except it is a flathead 6volt system with pos ground. Which cable goe to pos terminal?

The cable that goes to the ground goes to the pos. side of the battery. Neg goes to the starter solenoid.

Barry, THANKS as you can tell I'm new at this. Just to be clear. The starter solenoid is mounted on the firewall of the truck. Small thing about half the size of a fist. I assume the "longer" wire going down to the engine would be the pos. ground.

You have the cable going to the solenoid from the battery is negative. The positive is usually grounded somewhere on the engine or frame.
