don`t panic Helge. first you should check if the loose wires are hot.( are there power in them.???)
choose one wire and try to trace it .(find out where it starts and ends + mark both ends .
connect it ( one cable) to a volt-meter to measure it. try all switches, ignition or the likes to see if you can get power into the cable.
if you can`t find power then reel it in and put a wire-strips on it.
then pick the next cable and repeat.
and so on......................
is there a fuse box in your truck???
if there is , how many circuits does it have??????
does all the circuits have fuses installed???????????
this will keep you busy awhile i think.

Helge-
Wiring can be a real challenge, especially when you are trying to clean up someone else's mess with the wiring diagram. The wire going to the sender in front of your carb is most likely the water temp sender. Usually the oil pressure sender is located on the block, probably on the drivers side near the front (behind the water pump). Be careful to not hook any 12v source to the sender wire or you might damage the gauge. Vern's advice about trying to find out the manufacturer of your kit and then getting a diagram or instructions would be the best way to go. I'm sure you will solve the mystery if you take it one wire at a time.

Thank you friends:)

This was a lot of good advice, I know there is a fuseboard with 4 fuses mounted left of the handbrake, I will try to find out what brand.
What confuses me is the colourmarking: I would think that red and redstripe wire is pos.+12v and that black is -12v, but this can be wrong, hmm?
I was thinking of demonting the instrumentpanel, because my back and neck is starting to hurt after spending some time on the floor with a flashlight, trying to find the right wire and colour.
The fact that I am colourblind (red/green) does not help to much in this case.
And I am not joking!
Do you know, is it a lot of work to drop down the instrumentpanel?
I also find that the wire to the ignitionlight was starting to look melted/disformed, and that the light did not get out after starting the engine.
You can se the light in my gallery, I dont think it is original.
Must also say: My budget run out the backdoor today, my other car,a Crysler Stratus returned from service, guess the price!!
$1500
There goes the Interior and the roof
Thanks for all the good help and for keeping me in a positiv line

Helge,

If the fuseboard holds only four fuses, then the wiring kit shouldn't be too complicated. It should be relatively easy to drop the fuseboard below the dash where you can get a good look at it. Make sure the battery is disconnected before doing anything under there. I have had a whole harness go up in smoke and it isn't a pretty sight. Red or redstripe is almost always positive and black almost always negative as you said...there can be exceptions, however, and you do not know if the kit was installed correctly so be careful. From your gallery you have old style SW gauges which should be fairly easy to connect to the engine/harness. I did not see the ignition light that you referred to, however, if there are any signs of melting or deformity due to heat, the wire may be too small in diameter/gauge or connected in the wrong place. You said the light did not go off after the engine started. Is this an idiot light associated with the charging system? I see you have an ammeter gauge, so if it works the light is probably unnecessary anyway and could be disconnected if you wanted.

The easy way?

I just email Johns F-Fun Hundreds as i discovered that the PO had order the wireset from them, and they say: Includes complete Instruction, the partnr. is 14401 CA year 53-55 if someone have a copy.
I guess I`m not the first one that have ordered a wiring set from them??
BTW the snow is starting to melt here in Norway, so I will give the wireproblem first priority and let the heater rest

Helge-
Did you ask Johns F-Fun if they would send you a copy of the instructions? Seems to me they could make a courtesy copy since you bought a truck with their wire harness in it and you might be prone to order some parts from them if they treated you special.
Just a thought.

Yes I did:)

I email Johns and ask for a copy, and I have order some upholstery, and small parts from them, but that was before I asked for the copy
