I have a 49 f2 and am putting a 351 clevland with a rear that has 3.73 possi rear and wanted to know if I use a c4 will I need large or small bellhousing and do you think the combo will be good? I will use a 4 link coilover suspension for rear and mustang II with coilover rather than air. also glass tilt front end and glass fenders on rear with a shortened bed.
Thanks, Salty
I think you can use either as long as you use the corresponding flywheel , converter and spacer between the engine and transmission. The gears will be a little high for freeway speeds you will be close to 3000 at 65 mph depending on tire size. I like 3.00 3.25 for highway use .
Duh - disreguard the above post, the 351C used the smallblock pattern. The 351M/400 use the bigblock pattern.
I will now take my medications, retire to the basement and play with electricity.
