if i remember right there should be a cover on the bottom on the front of the trans, take off that cover then rotate the converter until you see the plug

Even though I have not drained the torque converter on mine, older Ford trannys had the drain plug on the forward, bottom side of the torque converter, engine side. Obviously pull the cover pan between the engine and tranny. There usually is just one, so you may have to roll your engine over a little at a time to locate it, and bring it to the bottom. If you are a monster man, reach up and roll it over by hand....

But if you are a wimp like me try just barely bumping the starter to rotate it. After draining, put some thread sealant on the threads only ( does not take much ) and insert the plug back in. Don't overtighten.

Fill about half full with ATF, probably 8 or 9 quarts, then start engine, leave in park, and start adding more. After about 4 or 5 more quarts, start watching your tranny dipstick for proper fill level.

Yep that's the spot! That cover looks like a PITA to get off but that's what it's under! You can also unhook the tranny cooler line and let the tranny pump new fluid through the system (that's what I have to do - '02 no drain) but the drain is probably easier if that cover isn't too hard to get off!

You da monsterman for sure !!

You need an inch pound torque wrench, to get accurate tightening, to prevent damage or warping internal tranny components. But I have taken you as far as I can, someone else will have to supply the bolt torque settings that may have a manual or CD that can help. Good luck.
