Just baught my first truck, it's a 91 F250 XLT Lariat diesel. I got it thru a auctuion where I work, paid 700 bucks. love having a truck, took me long enough LOL gonna turn 40 this year.
Way to go! It's about time It took me til I was 26 to get my first F-150...... I'm 32 and still have it. It's by far the best vehicle I've ever owned. When I got it there was 49K on the odometer......... I'm at almost 140K now and still runs like a champ! good luck with your first truck.
i thaught the drivers seat was just loose and the bolts needed tightening but they were already tight, so i went under to look and found that the floor has 'bout 4 in long cracks where the bolts go through. i will have to take a pic of it, it makes me laugh because i know the people who drove this truck in the past and one of them is a real big ole boy, 300+ pound feild hand. He must of had a pretty good bump to bust the floor. i wondered what that pop sound was and why the seat sat so low in the back. looks like a easy fix. need to jack the floor back up stright weld it up and add some steel plate. like a lot of the company trock this one too has the 1" thick plate steel placed in the bed up towards the cab, next time i take the truck to work its coming out, must wiegh hundreds of pounds, it does smooth out the ride some but it seems like a lot of extra wieght. turck is good
Trucks are great...., I just bought a 150 xlt, ext. cab 5.8 v8 and its got the power lol, and im only 16, screw waitin around till im to old to give it hell....haha
It will come in handy for hauling parts for the 65 & 66 Galaxies and the 70 Cougar XR7. All under restoration. Can't get much in my 96 tbird.
Got the floor all welded up, got some more grinding to do. will take pics.
Drilled holes at the ends of the cracks, welded, put the grinder to it and painted with X O Rust primer. One brace was cracked, welded it back together. the braces were originally poop (pop) rivited, I used 1/4-20 bolts/ nuts instead. Now I have to find the water leak, then the interior can go back in.
