let them talk as they leave in their Edited for Content by FTE cars
honestly i think they will be wowing your truck instead of making fun
who can resist a huge truck? the chics dig it man!
Gee I would not worry about to much I took my date in 1979 in a 1967 F350 dump truck with glass packs wow that truck was loud. And we had a great time. Don't sweat the small stuff.
I had a truck with 35's on it when I went to prom. We were going to take her dad's 57 Chevy but she insisted on my truck. Thank god I never married her! LOL
me amnd my buddies (guys and girls) are figuring all this out too. I am taking my buddies girlfriend lol... (She goes to my school, he is out of school and doesnt want to go) I had my date for prom before I met the girl I am seeing right now... lol she wants to go, but is not worried about it, cuz she knows I wont dump my date like that, and can appriciate it (shes a pretty cool chick, loves the truck, can put a baseball cap on and go out anytime with me ) She is coming with me to the afterparty anyways.... thats gonna be the best part anyways! Can't wait, its gonna be alot of fun....
but back to your subject, my date doesnt want to go in the truck either, even my 93 GMC, which is a very nice clean classy lookin truck. Thats ok tho, we're gonna show up in a limo of some sort (I want a truck limo, but can't find one in my area) lol just make sure your girl has fun, and you will have a great night!
Ummto prom I have
ridden with a friend (didnt have a car/truck)
drove my older sisters neon (didnt have a car/truck)
took mt 02
limo to New Orleans.....
I was wnating to take a friends 68 stang to one of those last two proms but it dropped a valve a few weeks prior....and I never was able to get my mach 1 finished in time....still not done a year later. I NEED to get it done for one of her colleges Spring Formals
I think you need to default to the girl. That being said, many year ago I borrowed a 1967 Corvette for prom and refused to put the top on because I wanted the open feel. My girl had her hair really fixed nice (keep in mind this was 1967!) and it blew apart pretty bad. Cold shoulder night for me!!!!!
Two years ago I happened to see some kids take one of the Big Foot monster trucks to prom. For real!!! One of the girl's father's worked for the corporation that owns Big Foot and she arranged for a driver to trailer the truck to the Walmart parking lot across from the school and loaded about 4 couples in the back and then drove them across to the school and around the school a few times. Way cool! They used a step ladder to get the kids in and out of the bed!
As far as how clean my pickup stays, i get mad when it gets a little dusty and if i do take it's going to be the brightest thing on the road (i'll probably start cleaning it the day before). But i wish you guys and gals could see it in person and hear it to, we just got it runnin tonight and 350-400 horse power through open headers in a steel shop with doors closed is pretty dang loud and it started the first time after the motor has sat wrapped in plastic in our shop for three years. But i think that i'm worrying over nothing has i get compliments where ever i go in it but thanks for all the input.
P.S. Although i'm 18, i have never even touched alchol when driving but if i'm not the DD thats a different story.
I say go for the truck. I did when I went to prom. Although I took my Dads 2500 Dodge 4x4. The girl actually brought a step stool with her. Plus it was fun helping her in.....just give her a little nudge on the bum....good times! She didn't seem to mind....at least with the way the night turned out anyways! I vote truck. And like everyone else says....NO DRINKIN!
Take your truck it's your senior prom, you've done work to it n all. I took my truck to my senior prom, haha she didn't object as I went 'solo' that night. But, really do what you want and do what you can to compensate for the lady. As she apparently doesn't want to go in your ride. Keep us posted. -BBB
