Need Speed Sensor Help 03 Expy!
Can anyone tell me where the speed sensor (sends the speed signal to the insrument guage) is located on an 03. I looked on the rear dif and am pretty sure it is not there.

there is no wire that serves that purpose. There is a turbine shaft speed sensor in the rear of the transmission that is very critical to transmission operation that is a variable reluctance input to the pcm. The pcm uses data from it to calcualate driveshaft speed, and then uses another calculation to get axle speed and another to get distance per tire revolution. This data is then encoded and multiplexed onto the scp bus along with engine temp, rpm, and a little more data that other modules use. The scp network is shared by both the pcm and the cluster, so the cluster can get the info off that network to make the speedo, odo, temp gauge and tach work. So in other words, theres no way to just clip or switch on and off a wire to save mileage.
You can however, unlike 99-02 models, swap clusters in and out without having to reprogram pats keys. The pats module is now integral to the pcm, not the hec.
