Anyone know what the annoying drop down box under the team name, score, and time graphic that is on the top left of the screen is? The one that says for example "Modono on ice". Seems like useless info to me, just covering up more of the actual game.
With all that stuff in the top left part of the screen, the running strip at the bottom, the additional strip that sometimes pops up above that one and the other pop up graphics, sometimes the game itself is mostly obscured.
Maybe I am just slow today, but how could it possibly make ESPN money to tell us with a drop down graphic every time Modono, Sakit, or whomever else come on the ice?
Yeah, that annoys me too, its for all the non hockey people, I guess its to let them know that a good player is on the ice. RANT ON: And why do NHL playoff games not get shown on tv, yet every boring second of NCAA basketball regular season gets shown 24/7? ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! RANT OFF
Well, I guess that is probably right. Sometimes I forget that not everyone in the world has played hockey all their lives. Actually, I stopped a couple of years ago, but I will be 50 next year. I actually don't watch all that much on TV. Just the college playoffs and a few regular season NHL games. I do watch most of the NHL playoffs, though. I think it is really the only sport where it goes up a significant notch or two in the post season.
