need some advice on this f450 v 10 6.8liter, when started up has a miss fire real good shake to the whole truck and no codes!!!!!
but when driven for 15 minutes to operating temp seems to smooth right out and run good. tried a new temp sensor and same thing ??????
anybody have this problem before? it just started , fuel system is good , new filter pump only 3 months old
thanks
Rob,does it act like it wants to stall ? if yes chk the IAC valve it could be dirty .
also a number of things can cause engine misfire
cop's -coil on plug
masf -mass air flow sensor
air temp sensor
and a bunch of other sensors
plus fuel injectors or fuel pressure/fuel filter
you scanned it ? ,by your post I take it you did an, noticed nothing else wrong.
What about engine misfire/ cylinders ?

no i havent put a scan tool no yet , when the fuel pump went a while back the ford dealer in town raped us with a huge bill replaced a coil unit and truck ran the same.
we had to replace the fuel pump twicewhich ran real good for some time but now only idles rough cold???? and no check eng. light is comming on. so it must not be computer controlled, or a sensor out of range???
what would control eng. idle, timming on start up??? and then allow it to run smooth when warm??
thanks for the advice i will pull off and clean it tommorrow.
will let you know if that cures the prob.talked to another ford dealer and they had not come across this but suggested a reflash to the ecm???
thanks a million you guys were right on the money!! i pulled off and cleaned that IAC valve and man what a difference..... acted up once since then so i will replace it but am glad thats all it was running about 95% big improvent on idle and power
thanks again all
