Im trying to replace my stero in my 1989 F-350. Im having trouble trying to figure out which wire is which. If anyone could help me Identifing what wire is what it will be greatly appreciate it. And also I have an amplifier and a subwoofer and when i turn the stero up loud the woofer hooked threw the amp shuts off during low notes.
What gauge of wire do u sugjest? I had it hooked up last week and i know i did it wrong because when i turn the headlights on the stero will come on without the key in the ignition. But there are three other wires that were hooked into the stock stero that im not using, so i figure that one of those is for the memory and the other something else.
The gauge depends on the size of your amp, how big is it?
By it comming on when you turn your lights on, it sounds like you hooked it to the dimmer switch or something, that's weird. I always preach using harnesses, that way you really can't go wrong, but I'm guessing you cut those off. Did you take a look at the wiring diagram at installdr?
