Wiring Back-up Lights
Got a 04 F450 6.0 PSD Torque-Shift Auto cab & chassis. Bought an aftermarket hauler bed for it and installed it myself. Everything went great except wiring the back up lights. The bed manufacturer told me that the wire for the back-up lights is black with a pinkish stripe on it. That is what I wired it to. Nothing. I even got under the truck with a test light and some help (would not recommend this practice to anyone) but could not find anything. Any ideas what is going wrong here? By the way this is my first post on here so sorry if this has been addressed or answered before.

When you said that you had help I assume that the truck was running. That is the only way to complete the circuit for power to the b/u switch. YOU ARE CORRECT THAT YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS. If you have no power at that wire keep stabbing with the test light.

Well, you don't actually neet have the engine running, you just need the key in the "on" position. And the trans has to be in reverse of course.
The black w/ pink stripe should be the one.

i make hualer beds, and i used the wire that the factory take off lights had on them. should be wires on both sides of the frame in loom with a gray plug on them. can't remeber the color of ther wire tho! man you should of bought my bed i would of gave you an awesome deal!!! pic in gallery
