I called the local dealer and they said it had to do with the EGR and thats all he would say becuase he didnt want to lead me the wrong directions. any sugestions?
P0133 is an O2 sensor CKT slow to response, bank 1 ,
sensor 1, had same code with my '96, replaced both upstream o2 sensors(before CAT), Autozone sold
O2's for $45 each, did both.
I am pretty sure it was a 133. unless like you suggest the 1 is the seporator but when it gave me the code the second time it had a pause and then one blink, 3 blinks and 3 blinks. If it is a 33 code what would that be? The pickup seems to be running really rich and poor milage. The exhaust pipe looks like a diesel with all the black junk in it. I have changed pulgs, wires, cap & rotor, 02 sensor, coolant temp sender (to the computer), the fuel presure regulator. I hope the info will help. I am at my wits end.
www.fordfuelinjection.com has a ton of info on this subject. It got to be a code 33 for EGR not opeining. Had the same problem on my 91 f150. How's the idle? If it's bad then I would start with the EGR. By the way, autozone will test your truck for free.
If your truck is a '94 it is probably OBDI and not OBDII. Should be giving back (2) digit codes and not (3) digit codes. OBDI has five 33 codes, but only one of them looks like it could even remotely apply to your truck. Advance Auto sells a Haynes Techbook, number 10205, Automotive Computer Codes that has the majority of the codes listed in it. Cost about $16. All of them are EGR related except one that is for diesel throttle position noise. Would suggest getting a friend to help you read the codes that has not been involved. May get a fresh perspective. I recently purchased an Autoxray EZSCAN 6000 scanner and have noticed something. If I sit in the drivers seat while the codes are being read, the check engine light blinks the same codes that are being read by the reader. I have a blinker too, but you have to stand there and watch it. You might let friend or wife read the blinker and you sit in the drivers seat just to see if check engine light blinks too. If it does it might be easier to read. Just look for separator codes.
