I am doing a report and i am wondering what was the first year for the 300-6 and the first year for the f-150 instead of the f-100

First year for 300 was 65 and I thought the F-150 was '76.

'65 for the 300
'75 for the F150
F100 remained until '83

I believe the F150 was developed to just edge over into the weight class that did not require all the smog equipment. Just a way for the mnfr to provide a "cleaner" (mechanically that is--ha ha what a perverse pun) vehicle. Sort of like now the "high mileage" oils are a way for the mnfr to give us better oils, not all doctored up with energy conserving polymer sheer.

The F100 was 2wd only after 77, largest engine avalable after 1980 was the 302

I have a 1982 F100, I also believe that 1982 was the first year for the blue oval to be put in the grill.

I believe the F100 had one less leaf spring than the F150
