7.3 bus motor

I have found a 7.3 in a 87 international shcool bus, but my buddy say's it won't bolt int my f-250 with a 6.9 auto says I have to use the 7.3 tranny because the int bus motor is a industial motor and the bolt hole are wrong????

i thot the 6.9 and the 7.3 shared the c-6 transmission.
perhaps you could change the bell housing if the holes are not the same. The motor is out of the chassis, is it not? or am I reading the whole wrong? the exhaust manifolds may also have to be changed to fit into the ford chassis. Its always easier to change things with the engine out of the chassis. Let me know how it goes.

the 6.9 and 7.3 do share the same bolt patterns in a truck but this is a whole bus I don't want to buy it if it won't work.so my question is is the industrail 7.3 differnt from the pickup 7.3

All you have to do is remove the International bell housing and flywheel and use the Ford transmission adapter and flywheel from your old engine. The International fuel injection pump is calibrated to different specs, so you'll want to use the Ford pump as well. Also the oil coolers are different and International used a different crankcase depression regulator (CDR) set up. There are some other Mickey Mouse differences but if you have the old engine, you can use the parts from it to make the swap.

If your trying to do a conversion, Let me know, Have spare parts also have flywheel and conversion adapter. Bolts to International motors to allow a ford transmision to be bolted.
