well i got another bronco 3 months ago for 1400 never been offroad and never had the 4X4 engaged. it was sitting for 4 years the engine would sputter but that was the only problem. now i finally got to working on it, took it to a place to check what the sputtering was i thought it would be the fuel injectors and after i took it to this place they said it was the #3 injector but they just did tests never checked it out. so i took the upper intake off noticed that the #3 injector wiring was gone and there was a grip of rat droppings everywhere. so i took off the electrical adapter that went on to the injector and am gonna rewire that part. crazy huh, who would have thought that i got that deal with just an easy fix, now just got to get the ding king and pull out a minor dent then it will be a good runner. just got to finish my other bronco's rebuild
Find me one like that too would ya! Nice find. Now hopefully none of the rats have made a home in the intake..hehe unless you like seeing rats shot out through the exhuast. hehe
I installed an anti vermin device under the hood, I have yet to find a happy mouse under the hood!
I did have a pic, but its not wanting to upload, ill try it later, ive gotta run

When I got my bronco it was sitting in a field and the guy hadn't driven it in a year or so because he couldn't get it to pass smog. Well, it turns out his dogs like the taste of wires and they chewed up all the wiring from the trans back. Neutral safety, abs sensor, all tail lights, etc. Had lots of fun fixing that mess!
Not a Bronco, but similar in good deals. A buddy of mine bought an old Jeep Wrangler a couple months ago. It ran like crap, had a huge miss, and wouldn't pass smog. He got it for $300. We took the injector rail off and the #6 injector was clogged with mud...
$20 and a junkyard injector later and it ran like a champ. After replacing the starter and water pump he had a grand total of $525 in it. Sold it a month later for $2500.
theres always deals you find if you just look. you mostly find them just drivin around town. my uncle just bought a 73 porsche carrera for 2000 didnt run so all he did was change the fuel filter and it ran perfect then sold it for 4500. just look for something that may have been sitting for a while and talk to the owner
Although not with a bronco, I've had a couple experiences with this sort of thing.
During my freshman year of college, I wasn't allowed to have a vehical on campus, so my 79 F-150 sat in the garage for the winter. Went in one day to get something out of the glovebox, only to discover that the little furballs had packed my glovebox full of cattle corn. After I had that cleaned out, I went to start the truck. Well it started ok, but I soon smelled something burning. I pop the hood to discover that they had quite the nest built on my exhaust manifold.
2 summers ago I worked at a summer camp with a very high population of squirrels. My driver at the time, a dakota, sat during the week, only driven on the weekends. Well one friday I get set to drive home for the weekend. She started up fine, so I didn't think anything was wrong. I get out on the expressway and for some odd reason my overdrive won't kick in. I get home and climb under the truck to find one of my wiring harnesses all chewed up, some just with insulation missing, others cut clean...3 hours of work later and a bunch of splices and electrical tape, I had my OD working again. That little tree rat (aka squirrel) was lucky I never caught him, or else it woulda been squirrel stew for dinner.
