Question Possible Interior Change...

U guys think itd be somewhat of an easy job to find a wrecked 96 - 03 150- 350 XLT or above and take out the dash, seats n all that interior and install it in a 84 F250? my seat is too worn in and just stinks. i want to be able to not be so saddle sore after a 45 min Jaunt to college. i also want to make it a livable truck. she has only metal as a floor and a beat to H e double hockey sticks dash.

the other think.. yins all think its worth it to do that? of coarse i aint gettin it new, but ya think itll be major expensive outta a junk yard?

Catch yins n yall later. time to go playin in some mud...

I seriously doubt that a dash out of a newer truck would be able to be used in your's. Besides, if you have ever messed with pulling and and installing a dash in anything but old trucks it is a real bitch. I'm sure your dash is cracked up(they all do that) and i can guarentee you that all 80's ford trucks will be. I'd recomend looking into installing a dash cap or look for an auto interior restoration company in your area to install it. You can get replacement seats for your truck. I believe JC whitney has some as well as dash caps and rubber floor liners. Good luck to ya.

i know i can get seats outta JC Whitney, but i dont reall ywant to drop 600 (including shippin) into the seats. id rather go to a junkyard and pull em outta a wrecked truck. its a lot cheaper doin that. im a college student man. thats right there saya my buget! dash wise... i think i agree w/u. i was lookin for some screws and they are in a pain spot. i dont think ill screw with that too much .

Thanx!

you can swap out '87-96 F-150 ('97 & 98 2&350s) without much trouble. its all bolt-on, but requires everey little bit fron the face to the firewall.

you will need to pickup a haynes manual because there will be some wiring changes involved.

people thought I couldnt convert my 1bbl into EFI, i proved evereyone wrong..

Don't know why i did not think of it before but a friend of mine just recently swapped out a seat on his 74 hiboy with the rear seat out of an 89 ext. cab 350 with no mods. I know yours is an 84 but I thought this may give you some hope. Hope you can find a good one in a truck that hasn't had all the windows smashed.
