My uncle gave me my 87' F150 because he got a new (gulp!) *chevy*. It supposedly has a "rebuilt" 351w. (i'll believe that when my breath turns purple & smells like rainbow sherbet....) It was done in 2000 but I think he got jipped. I went out to start it after school today (has no brakes & bad body, so I can't drive anyway) and turned on the heat, I smelled some gas & oil I thought. I've been noticing a lot of white smoke and water coming out the exhaust, so just for kicks I checked the coolant reservoir, very low, the temp has also been running a little high, but I didn't have a leak in the radiator. So for som more kicks, I opened up the oil cap, milky, beige, sludge all over the inside of the cap.
So seeing as the truck needs all new brakes, damn near a new body, and now a new motor or head gasket, should I keep it OR junk it?
It's a 351 w.......but I just fixed the problem, I believe that there's an emissions hose that goes from the oil filler neck to the air cleaner....plus it was being run while it was rainy....and I had my 8 yr. old nephew climb in there and forgot that he had accidently kicked off the reservoir hose....
Yup I'm in derry, the Pinkerton's grown to about 7 buildings some with over 50 rooms. The seniors have their own cafeteria...rat finks. I don't know if Mr. Ek was the headmaster when u were in but he retired last year. The damn place is like a college now.
Looks like I'm not going to be doing much parting out...Sorry Guys...
I don't like new trucks anyway..too much emissions garbage
yep mr ek was the vice when i started and was prinipal when i graduated back in 1977....im sure derry has changed over the yrs but sure wish i was back uo there in sure the parts i need now would be alot more available there than down here where the trucks never rust and run forever.....
