Well it finally croaked. After 15 years, my dad's belt driven craftsman compressor locked up. It happened while I was sandblasting with a siphon gun (I will have a pressure feed blaster for my truck frame). It started making a peculiar noise. I stopped, checked everything, then started again. Motor engaged, pump didn't move.
We checked on getting just the pump. They are as expensive as a whole new compressor. Twelve months, no interest with a $25,000 credit limit later at Home Depot, there is a huge Husky two stage compessor sitting in the corner.
If it lasts half as long as the Craftsman, money well spent.
i have one of the old craftsman rolling compressors labelled a "Paint Sprayer" thing is older than me but it runs like the devil.why give it up if it works lol
