New Cat Back Exhaust Dilemma

I checked my local exhaust shop, and he said he could install the Flowmaster cat back dual pipe setup for between $70 and $100. Not too bad, but I still might do it myself though. I was ready to order the kit # 17222, which includes everything, but I realize it only comes with the 50 series muffler. I want the 40 series! I want a nice performance sound. I don't want the truck to be a quiet as the stock system on it now. But I also don't want it to be obnoxiously loud. I'm used to the throaty sound my '90 5.0 Mustang makes. I have a Dynomax on that. Anybody know how I could make a 40 series work with this new kit, and what parts extra would I need if any. I'm on vacation next week and I would like to try and get it done late this week or very early next week.
By the way, my pickup is a '03 Supercrew 5.4 with the off road package. I live in NY, so I intend to keep all of the cats in place to keep it legal.
Any help will be greatly appreciated !!

If you want the 40 series, dont buy that specific kit! Do they not make that exact kit? I dont see why the shop you had planned on installing the kit couldnt fab up some tailpipes for the muffler you want. It will probably also end being cheaper by having your local guy doing the pipes.

i agree with wheelMA1. i had a 40 put on my pickup, and had the muffler shop custom fabricate tailpipes out the back. instalation for mine was about $130 when done...but they had a few problems gettin the pipe bent. i say buy a 40 series and have a shop fabricate.

My dad has the force II system on his f-150 5.4L I really like how it sounds....it roars pretty good when he steps on it....I nice low rumble at idle. You can hear it at cruising speeds.....he has a cap on the bed and you can still hear it in the cab at cruising speed.
