Charcoal canister
I have a 1973 F100 which has a charcoal canister up front for filtering fumes from the gas tank.
I can't find a replacement anywhere...does anyone know how to repair/replace it?
If I replace the gas tank, do I just disconnect and remove the canister?

Actually, on my F-100, I relocated the cannister to just in front of the rear axle; out of the path of anything on the road (to get all the clutter away from the 460) - that way the tank can still vent. If you remove the cannister and let the vent tube vent to the atmosphere instead of **throught** the charcoal granules in the cannister you can have a little more "fuel smell".

O'Reilly's for one sells late 70's carbon cannisters. They're essentially the same, except they have two extra connectors. All you'd need to make it work is an extra vac connection to ported vacuum or manifold vacuum.
