Gauge Ranges

As far as gauges go, most pyros I've seen go up to 1600 or so and start around 100. That's more than enough, and you shouldn't be going over 1300-1350 anyway if it's pre turbo. For the tranny gauges, you're gonna wanna get one that starts out at 100 degrees because the tranny usually runs about 70-75 degrees higher than the outside air temp, so it won't move unless you get the tranny good and hot if you get a guage that starts at 140-150. For the boost gauge, a 0-35 PSI is more than enough unless you plan on going nuts with a huge chip, o-ringed heads, bigger turbo, etc. I have a good bit of stuff done to my truck, and the most I push is maybe 27-28.

I second what basstardo said. My tranny temp starts at 140, and I wish I had one that started at 100, because I rarely see mine come up to 140. I would like to add, too, that 270 degree sweep guages give a better look and feel for changes, so you should try and get 270 degree sweep guages.
