fuel pump??
How do you tell when your fuel pump needs replacing if you dont have access to a pressure guage.. does the engine run silly? I think I may have this problem... sorry for all these questions but I just came back from deployment for 8 months, and I am working bugs outta my old girl. Thanks.

You can do a volume test by running a hose into a bottle and timing how long it takes to fill it. There are specs in service manuals. If you don't have one get one, and maybe someone will look it up for you tonight
A simple pressure test is to put your finger over the end of the hose, just don't squirt the gas into your eyes or anyplace else dangerous.

Mine just always seems to run out of power on hills. I seem to put one on every 3 years. I've never had one leak into the crank case, or leak outside the housing. I'm not saying it can't, but I've been through 470,000 miles on my truck.
