Strange black box...

There is a black box behind my seat on the drivers side. it has a big ford logo on it. Any idea as to what it is?? 78 f-250 ranger 4x4.

when i try to upload the pics, it seems like it works on my end, cause they are jpeg. But then the web gallery says the pics must be jpeg/etc. So I dont know what the gig is on that. maybe the pics are too big, but i even resized them with their quality. suggestions?

What kind of wires are attatched? Pics must be pretty small in terms of pixels. You should be able to right click on some examples and see the file size.

wasn't the factory CB mounted there.

say, did they have factory cbs?? there is a strange electrical outlet under the dash..and what looks to be a catch for a handset or something. if there were fact.cbs, could i find one ortiginal somewhere??

Yes there were factory cbs. They had a handset with the channel buttons in it, and it connected to a large round connector (with 10-15 terminals...) on the bottom of the dash. The cb was integrated through the factory radio, so the sound came through the radio speakers. Don't see too many of them anymore...
