I'm about ready to put my 390 into my '77 and I have the motor mounts(rubber) that mount directly onto the engine block. Now do I need any little "towers" or anything that they bolt onto or will they just fit right into the frame?
I guess a better way to word this is on some motors there is the rubber mounts w/ two bolts that go onto the block. on the opposite side it has a single stud. Now...on top of the frame are there two metal towers that bolt to the frame, then the actual motor mounts bolt to. Or will they fit into the frame mounts b/c the frame mounts look pretty far apart to fit even an FE motor. Didn't get to measure but seemed that way.
460 frame mounts fit 385 series engines only. You will need to find a set for a 76-earlier with a 360/390 engine.
302/351w/351m/400 all use the same frame mounts as well
ill trade you frame mounts....i have a 360 in my truck and am putting in a 460. although i dont know how easy it is to remove these without damaging them.

Is yours a 4x4? Mine has no mounts but I can probly get a 460 set...its the 390 sets that are impossible to find. I'm assuming yours is given the highboy username. If it is then shoot me an email. thanks
