Well, Technically its not snapping axles.. cuz the shafts are perfectly fine, its the damn yolk at the end of the axle around the ujoint that keeps going!!! Im ****ed! The first one went, and i bought a diff. one.. its used so i was skeptical about it, and i broke it.. Im thinking i will try and buy a Chromoly one. I hope it fixes the problem.. If someone can diagnose me that would be great!
my driveline angle is fine.. i broke the first one when my truck was stock, and now i broke this one with the 6" Lift a 35's. I think its just cuz the one i bought to get by on was old.. ill buy some chromolys and see if they work ok.
i'm asumming this is a d44 right? i got a quick question if it is, what is the socket you need for the hubs to get to the u-joint? there is a weird/ big socket needed right? i just broke another ujoint and want to do this one myself and need all the tools ready.

The problem you are experiencing is not all that un-common running 35's. The d44 usually can handle 33's and still off-road with little problems. However, running the larger 35's and trying to off-road will cause issues...as you have seen. Going with the moly's might help...
MG86TA, you running a locker or posi up front? That could explain your shaft breakage. Did you put new u-joints in when you swapped shafts? Sloppy u-joints will chew up yoke ears causing them to snap. Are you throwing the hammer down when the wheels are cranked? There's another explanation.
Chromos SHOULD hold up fine on a 44 with say, 38"s or smaller tires from what people using them have said.
Ok
Texan: Its a Spindle Nut Socket, you can pick it up at any automotive store
77: No, Its open up front. The first one that snapped was with bald 33's. The second one that snapped was me being stuck trying to get out in reverse, i gased it too much i guess. Im hoping Chromos help my situation.

Oh yeah, also just to add 1 more thing, In order to get the spindle off, its a light press so you have to hit it with a hammer and a block of wood(Make sure not to oval it out). When u hit it, hit it from one side, then stick a screwdriver in it when it comes off a little, then hit it from the other side, stick another thing in there, take the other screwdriver out, repeat process. Hope this helps.
Along with the tech article on u-joints here is another tip. When you get the new joints assembled take a hammer and give the angled part of the yoke a good smack on both axle shafts. This sets the needle bearings and end caps into position - you will notice the u-joint moves much more freely after you do this.
Jeffs Bronco Graveyard claims the chromos will make your axles as strong as Dana 60's.. since they are 33% stonger i guess than stock dana 44 axle shafts.
